A character concept sheet of an original character. I wanted to experiment with shading in c
old vs. warm tones, as well as practice drawing the same character with different poses and feelings. Seen below, some faces are shaded with blue tones, whereas others are with red/orange.
Expressions practice, playful character with serious moments. Originally, I had the character sheet in two parts to have more space to draw out the character; I then combined the two and re-positioned the faces and full-body drawings to be one cohesive character sheet. The background elements are repeated from the poster drawing I did, altered slightly in shape and color to better match and emphasize the form of the character. The left-most pose is made up of straight lines in the spine, thighs, and legs, so a circular wave with round curves brings contrast.
Sketch Part 1: I used one of CSP's default 3D models to position it into the pose I wanted in order to get a better idea of where the knees and legs would overlap. I then sketched out some of the character's expressions at slightly different angles. I then did the lineart and coloring of the first full-body, so that I would have a reference for the rest of the head shots.
Sketch Part 2: I did another full-body of a standard standing pose, so the clothing can be better seen. I tried to get more angles for the head shots, in varying situations to have even more expressions.
