First time learning and creating terrain and environmental objects myself; all models made by me in Maya and all textures drawn in Clip Studio Paint.
A nighttime environment of a mushroom “forest” under a starry sky, with crystals and a path with glowing lamps leading to a mushroom house. The mushrooms tower over the player to give it a magical, unreal feeling while the glow of crystals, lamps, and fireflies light up the night, which contribute further to the fantastical setting.
Music and Sound Effects: I did not create the music myself (credits below), but I chose music based on the atmosphere it provided to the environment. Based on how the environment seems magical, I chose a calming ambience with chimes, and when the player enters a cloud of fireflies, another chime music plays on top of the background music, where it meshes together quite well. For the cube, when the player picks it up, there is a start-up sound, almost like an activation, that signals to the player they’ve picked up the cube and can move it. When the player drops the cube, there’s also a sound effect of a short, lower tone “buzz”. Both are electronic in nature to emphasize the holographic-ness/technology of this object.

Video of the scene in Unity. Lighting on mushrooms set to "trees" have incompatible shaders so they only load their meshes and textures when the player goes near them.
In Unity, I added bright lighting to the windows to make it seem as if light is pouring out from them, as well as to brighten the roof's dark shadow. There is also a particle effect emulating the movement and blinking of fireflies around the environment to add to the magic theming.
A mushroom styled house that is much thicker than the rest of the mushrooms for it to stand out. The lamp is also shaped like a taller mushroom. Its light bulbs are transparent so I could add a glowing sphere within it in Unity, and with different colored lights.
Mushrooms made in Maya with hand-drawn textures on their UVs using CSP. The two mushrooms have different shaped tops and colors to make them distinct from one another, while still fitting in together in the environment
Some other props in my environment: two crystals and rocks. I created a glow for an object with a resized version of the crystal’s mesh or else the transparency on the crystal would be too dim. I made the crystals slightly transparent in Unity since it would not have the same brightness and translucency as seen in Maya; therefore needing the glow to give a similar effect. Low-poly rocks were made to decorate near the house.
